Mason Plumlee finishes two assists shy of triple-double for Blazers
Portland Trail Blazers center Mason Plumlee scored 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting with 14 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 31 minutes against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday.
Plumlee's minutes have been a roller coaster this season, but his 33 minutes was one minute shy of a season high on Friday. He was coming off a 19-point effort and over his last five games he is averaging 12.0 points, 9.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists during that stretch. The big man might be starting to show that upside he showed in last year's playoffs.
Plumlee is averaging 9.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists over 26.9 minutes per game. He owns a .545 effective field goal percentage and his 0.4 nERD ranks him 86th in the league.
