Marc Gasol (foot) will be healthy scratch at times for Grizzlies this season

Memphis Grizzlies Marc Gasol (foot) will sit out games as a precaution this season, according to coach David Fizdale.

What It Means:

"There will be some games we sit him," said Fizdale. "I’m definitely going to preserve him." The coach added that he will "absolutely be careful with Gasol’s minutes this season," which is likely a wise move after the star center suffering a fractured navicular bone last year. This should serve as the necessary reminder that Gasol's fantasy value will come with plenty of risk this season. Brandan Wright will make for a solid streaming option whenever Gasol is sidelined.

Gasol averaged 16.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 blocks in 34.4 minutes per game this past season. He only played in 52 games, earning a nERD of -0.1, which ranked 81st in the league.
