Orlando's Elfrid Payton is day-to-day with strained hip flexor

Orlando Magic point guard Elfrid Payton is being considered day-to-day with a strained hip flexor, according to head coach Frank Vogel.

What It Means:

It doesn't seem to be a serious injury, and it shouldn't affect Payton as we reach the regular season in October.

Payton's 29.4 minutes per game last season were the fifth-most on the team, but with the departure of Victor Oladipo, he will likely see his role increase. He posted a team-high 32.8 percent assist rate last season, though he wasn't an efficient scorer, averaging 13.1 points per 36 minutes on a .478 true shooting percentage.
