Terrence Jones inks one-year deal with Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans have finalized a one-year contract with forward Terrence Jones.

What It Means:

Injuries have plagued Jones throughout his career, but hopefully he'll be able to stay on the court in New Orleans. He will be vying for minutes in the frontcourt rookie Cheik Diallo, whose play during summer league has earned him a case for minutes in the Pelicans' rotation. Jones possesses the skills to be a valuable fantasy contributor, but health concerns (83 games played over the past two seasons) make him a risky pick on draft day. The deal is for the league minimum, but could increase up to $1.5 million, depending on New Orleans' cap situation.

Jones averaged 8.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 20.9 minutes per game last season, while posting the second-lowest true shooting percentage of his career (.519) and a career-low 11.1 percent total rebound rate. He ranked 94th in the NBA with a -1.4 nERD.
