Aaron Gordon expected to start for Magic at small forward
Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon is expected to start at small forward and play "a lot at the backup four" this upcoming season, said head coach Frank Vogel.
What It Means:
Gordon's fantasy arrow was pointing downward after Orlando acquired Serge Ibaka in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but it appears Vogel wants to utilize the 20-year-old's superlative athleticism. This doesn't bode well for Mario Hezonja's fantasy outlook, but Gordon makes for a solid pick towards the end of the middle rounds come draft season.
Gordon improved upon his rookie numbers in year two, averaging 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds with a .509 effective field goal percentage. He logged 23.9 minutes per game and ranked 47th in the league with a 3.4 nERD.
