Roy Hibbert

Roy Hibbert signs with Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets and center Roy Hibbert have agreed to a contract.

What It Means:

Hibbert has seen his play regress dramatically since being seen as the premiere "LeBron James stopper" back in Indiana with the Pacers during their playoff run in the 2012-2013 postseason. The 29-year-old will replace Al Jefferson in Charlotte and we'll see if he can get things back on track under the guidance of assistant coach Patrick Ewing.

Hibbert's 5.9 points per game last season were the lowest of his career, while his 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks were the worst since his rookie year in the league. Most glaring, his 12.9 usage percentage dipped way below his 20.7 career-average. He logged 23.2 minutes per contest, which was also the lowest since his freshman campaign with the Pacers. His -3.3 nERD ranked 112th in the league.
