Joe Johnson headed to Utah on two-year deal

The Utah Jazz agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent guard Joe Johnson on a two-year, $22 million deal.

What It Means:

The Jazz were reportedly looking for wing help, and Johnson is a great fit for a young team looking to make the playoffs in the Western Conference. It is unclear what the veteran's role will be with Alec Burks and Rodney Hood on the roster, but he should see plenty of minutes and shot attempts while providing solid defense for Utah next season.

The seven-time All Star combined to average 12.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 33.4 minutes per game for the Nets and Heat last season. However, his nERD of -6.6 was the 11th-worst mark of any player last season according to our metrics.
