Magic rule out Chuma Okeke (hip) for opener
Orlando Magic power forward Chuma Okeke (right hip bone bruise) will not play in Wednesday's regular-season opener agains the San Antonio Spurs.
Okeke missed the entire preseason due to the hip issue and it's not clear when he will be ready to play. Wendell Carter and Mo Bamba are expected to start in the front court on Wednesday, but Moe Wagner and Franz Wagner should also see additional burn off the bench.
Okeke's usage rate increased every month during his rookie year, peaking at 18.7% in April with averages of 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 1.1 3-pointers.
