Kings' DeMarcus Cousins (knee) out Wednesday

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins (right knee) will not suit up for Wednesday's game versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.

What It Means:

Cousins injured his knee during the fourth quarter of Monday's loss to the Chicago Bulls, and with the Kings firmly out of the playoff hunt out West, Sacramento will take a cautious approach with their franchise center and withhold him from Wednesday's game. Kosta Koufos will likely be in the starting five sans Cousins, and there will be more minutes for Quincy Acy and Willie Cauley-Stein. Rudy Gay and Rajon Rondo will also have the ball in their hands more often.

Cousins' 1.4 nERD this season ranks 64th. He's averaging 27.1 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game, while posting a 53.8 True Shooting Percentage in 60 games played. We project Cousins to average 18.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game over the remaining course of the season.
