Evan Fournier going from Magic to Celtics for picks

The Boston Celtics are acquiring guard/forward Evan Fournier from the Orlando Magic for two second-round picks.

What It Means:

The Magic are trading away Fournier, Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Vucevic in a flurry of deadline deals. Fournier gives the Celtics some much-needed depth on the wings but the deal is a downgrade for his fantasy outlook over the rest of the season as he will now be playing with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. It's not clear whether Fournier will come off the bench or replace Marcus Smart in the starting lineup, but it'll be hard for him to maintain his career-high 19.7 points per game. However, Fournier's departure from Orlando should open up some opportunity for Dwayne Bacon and perhaps rookie Chuma Okeke.

Fournier is averaging 30.7 FanDuel points in 30.3 minutes per game with a 25.7 usage percentage. In addition to the 19.7 points per contest, Fournier is also recording a career-best 60.4 true shooting percentage.
