Timberwolves' Nikola Pekovic out indefinitely with foot injury
Minnesota Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic is out indefinitely in order to continue his Achilles rehab.
The Timberwolves want Pekovic to work on strengthening calf muscles in order to take pressure off his foot and are hoping he will be able to return this season. It would be a surprise to see it happen as the Timberwolves are lottery-bound. Expect Gorgui Dieng to continue to reap the rewards of Pekovic's absence.
Pekovic has earned a -1.1 nERD in the 12 games he's appeared in this season, ranking him inside the top 100. In his 14 games as a starter, Dieng is averaging 14.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks on 59.7 percent shooting from the field. He currently ranks 54th with a 1.8 nERD for the year.
