Rockets keeping James Harden away from team, working on trade with 76ers or Nets
The Houston Rockets are planning on keeping guard/forward James Harden away from the team until a trade is done, reports Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
The Rockets are listening to offers from the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. Ben Simmons and Matisse Thybulle have been mentioned as potential pieces in Philadelphia's offer. Harden was held out of practice Wednesday and presumably will not play on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs if a trade hasn't been completed. The impending departure of Harden results in an upgrade for John Wall regardless of who the Rockets receive in return. Christian Wood also may see a larger offensive role.
Per FantasyLabs Wall's usage goes up 8.4 percent, to a team-high 35.5, without Harden on the court this season. He's averaging 1.2 FanDuel points per minute in those situations.
