LaMarcus Aldridge (knee) ruled out Wednesday for San Antonio

San Antonio Spurs forward/center LaMarcus Aldridge (sore left knee) is out for Wednesday's game versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

What It Means:

Aldridge only played 20 minutes Sunday but wasn't added to the injury report until Wednesday, so he may have tweaked something during Tuesday's practice. Jakob Poeltl is a candidate to start in place of Aldridge. There should also be a larger role for Rudy Gay and possibly rotation minutes for Trey Lyles. DeMar DeRozan will be tasked with more of the offensive load.

Poeltl averaged 7.4 points and 7.9 rebounds in 17 starts last season. He is now numberFire's best value play available on Wednesday's six-game slate, as Poeltl has a salary of $4,200 and our models project him for 29.2 FanDuel points. Per numberFire's NBA Heat Map, the Spurs-Lakers game has the second-highest over/under (229.0 points) on Wednesday.
