Russell Westbrook (quad) unlikely to play for Rockets on Thursday
Houston Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook is unlikely to play on Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers due to a right quad contusion, reports Tim MacMahon of ESPN.
Westbrook is listed as questionable but MacMahon's source says the star guard will sit. Austin Rivers and Ben McLemore are candidates to replace Westbrook in the starting lineup while Danuel House and Jeff Green should see expanded roles. James Harden will be asked to do even more on offense for Houston.
Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Rockets are favored by 3.5 points on Thursday. Harden's usage rate has risen by 8.7 percent without Westbrook on the floor this season, per RotoGrinders. Green's has increased by 4.7 percent.
