Pelicans' Zion Williamson (personal) leaves bubble
New Orleans Pelicans small forward Zion Williamson left the Orlando bubble to attend to an urgent family medical matter.
The Pelicans said Williamson intends to rejoin the team in Orlando for the restart, but it's not clear when he will do so. They return to action on July 30 versus the Utah Jazz. Brandon Ingram and Jrue Holiday will be asked to step up offensively if Williamson misses any games. There would also be a potential starting spot for Josh Hart or Nicolo Melli. Williamson leads the Pelicans with a 29.6 percent usage rate.
numberFire's models currently project Zion for 39.5 FanDuel points against the Jazz in the Pelicans' first game back. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, the Pelicans have the ninth-worst odds (+12000) to win the NBA Championship.
