David Nwaba (Achilles) joining Rockets, out for Orlando

The Houston Rockets signed free agent shooting guard David Nwaba (Achilles), formerly of the Brooklyn Nets, to a two-year contract.

What It Means:

Nwaba won't play in Orlando as he continues to rehab a torn Achilles injury. The deal pays Nwaba over $900,000 to finish this season and then gives the Rockets a team option for 2020-21 if they believe he can contribute. Nwaba's primary contributions come on the defensive end of the floor. He averaged 13.4 minutes over 20 games for the Nets this year.

Nwaba has averaged 6.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 20.5 minutes across 161 career games between four different teams.
