Hornets' Caleb Martin scores career-high 23 with 5 triples
Charlotte Hornets rookie point guard Caleb Martin scored 23 points (8-of-10 field goals, 2-of-2 free throws) with 4 assists, 3 steals, 5 3-pointers, and 2 turnovers in 36.5 minutes of a 143-138 double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Martin essentially set career-highs in everything but rebounds and free throws in this one. His minutes had been trending upwards in recent games, but the undrafted rookie was averaging just 4.3 points over his first 16 NBA contests entering Monday night. Martin could continue to see his role grow down the stretch. The Hornets will visit the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
Martin scored a career-best 44.0 FanDuel points on Monday. He's averaging 11.2 FanDuel points overall.
