Luka Doncic (ankle) expected to return for Mavericks on Wednesday
Dallas Mavericks small forward Luka Doncic (right ankle sprain) is on track to play Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings, per head coach Rick Carlisle.
Carlisle says things are "positive" for Doncic and the team is "hopeful" he'll be able to return from his seven-game absence before the Mavericks head into the All-Star break. Jalen Brunson has been filling in with the starters and Kristaps Porzingis has taken on a larger role offensively. During Doncic's absence, Porzingis has averaged 23.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.9 blocks, and 2.9 3-pointers on a 45.0 field goal percentage.
Doncic is averaging 52.7 FanDuel points per game, with 28.8 points (6th in the NBA), 9.5 rebounds (18th), and 8.7 assists (3rd) on a 46.4 field goal percentage.
