D'Angelo Russell scores 22 with 6 turnovers in Timberwolves debut
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D'Angelo Russell scored 22 points (7-of-12 field goals, 4-of-4 free throws) with 5 assists, 1 steal, 4 3-pointers, and 6 turnovers in 31.6 minutes of a 137-126 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Monday.
Russell struggled with turnovers but he made up for it with an efficient night from the field, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Things should only get better for Russell's fantasy value as he becomes more familiar with the offense and has time to develop chemistry with Karl-Anthony Towns. The Timberwolves' last game before the All-Star break is at home on Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets.
Russell scored 26.5 FanDuel points on Monday. numberFire's models project him for 22.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.2 triples per game over the rest of the season.
