Klay Thompson (ankle) will not play on Friday for Warriors
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (ankle) will not play on Friday versus the Boston Celtics.
Warriors' interim coach Luke Walton determined the ankle isn't in good enough shape for Thompson to play. Ian Clark will get the start while Leandro Barbosa (illness) will try and play. Thompson is day-to-day, and Walton may be electing him to sit him out due to the Warriors having another game on Saturday.
Thompson's 5.5 nERD ranks 34th this season, and he's averaging 18.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 22 games played. We project his numbers to stay roughly the same over the remaining course of the season, forecasting him to average 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.4 3-pointers made per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.
