Warriors' Klay Thompson says his ankle is 70 percent
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson said his ankle is at about 70 percent, and he remains a game-time call for Friday's matchup with the Boston Celtics.
"It's not feeling great, but it's not feeling bad," Thompson said after Thursday's practice at Emerson College in Boston. "It's like somewhere in between. It's like 60 percent -- nah, 70." Warriors' interim coach Luke Walton stated he doesn't want the injury to linger, and Thompson would be benched if there's "any concern at all that his ankle's hurt." Ian Clark would be the likely starter, with Andre Iguodala also in store for an increased workload.
Thompson's 5.8 nERD ranks 34th this season, and he's averaging 18.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 22 games played. We project his numbers to stay roughly the same over the remaining course of the season, forecasting him to average 19.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field.
