Luka Doncic's triple-double unable to lift Mavericks past Pelicans in overtime
Dallas Mavericks small forward Luka Doncic scored 29 points (10-of-26 field goals, 8-of-11 free throws) with 13 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, 1 3-pointer, and 5 turnovers in 38.7 minutes of a 129-125 overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday.
Doncic recorded the fifth triple-double of his young career and didn't appear at all hindered by the knee injury that forced him to miss the previous game. He finished an assist short of a trip-dub in two of his previous three contests. The Mavericks open up a back-to-back set on Wednesday versus the Trail Blazers in Portland.
Doncic scored 60.6 FanDuel points in the loss, his fourth-highest output of the season. The talented rookie is averaging 39.7 FanDuel points through 65 games overall.
