LeBron James (groin) unlikely to play for Lakers Thursday
Los Angeles Lakers forward Lebron James (groin) is not expected to return on Thursday versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, per head coach Luke Walton.
James, who hasn't played since injuring his groin on Christmas, is progressing in the right direction but still hasn't done any contact work, so Walton isn't confident he will be ready for Thursday's matchup. The Lakers want the 34-year-old to be close to 100 percent before continuing to embark on his 16th NBA season.
LeBron was averaging 50.5 FanDuel points through 34 games before the injury, with 27.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.1 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.7 blocks, and 2.0 triples per contest.
