Grizzlies' Marc Gasol battling lingering ankle injury

Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol acknowledged during a recent interview that the ankle injury he suffered against the Toronto Raptors back on November 27 is still bothering him.

What It Means:

"To me, it’s all about winning," said Gasol. "Instead of taking maybe five days to recover, six days to recover, maybe it takes two or three weeks to recover because you try to play through something." The injury likely explains why Gasol's performance has fallen off in December, with averages of 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.0 triples through five games. Despite the nagging issue, Gasol is not listed on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

numberFire's models expect Gasol to score 40.3 FanDuel points at a cost of $7,400 on Wednesday.
