Trae Young to start for Hawks in opener
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young will start versus the New York Knicks in Wednesday's regular-season opener, head coach Lloyd Pierce confirmed.
Young beat out Jeremy Lin for the gig in a competition that didn't appear to be too close. The 5th overall pick averaged 15.0 points and 2.0 deep balls in the preseason.
numberFire's models currently project Young to average 14.4 points, 2.1 3-pointers, 3.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 0.8 steals per game as a rookie.
