4 FanDuel Premier League Players to Avoid in Matchweek 2
Defender -- Harry Maguire, Leicester City
Salary: $7,000
Maguire is tied with Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso as the top-priced defender for Matchweek 2. Center-backs used to have the advantage in FanDuel’s old scoring system, but Maguire was able to put up only 3.9 FanDuel points in Matchweek 1 against Manchester United.
The Wolves -- +800 to be regulated -- are not as good of a side as the Red Devils but should end up somewhere near the middle of the table. The Foxes are a 0.5-goal favorite to win their first home match of the season, and the over/under is set at 2.5 goals.
Maguire struggled to find opportunities in Matchweek 1 and could once again struggle to pick up defensive actions as the Foxes should be on the attack after dropping three points in their first match. At $7,000, Maguire’s salary is to steep as the Tottenham defenders (priced below Maguire) have a good chance of getting the clean sheet bonus while the Wolves have an implied team total of 1.0 goal.
DFS players should look to spend down at defender in Matchweek 2 as there seem to be good options priced at or below $5,500.
