Carson Palmer ($8,900)

Unless you're looking for a steep discount and playing Alex Smith or Peyton manning (both of whom I think it's best to steer clear of on FanDuel), then your quarterback options are all right around the same salary point, with half of this week's starters priced within $500 of each other. I spent a long time going back and forth between Carson Palmer and Tom Brady while researching this, but I ended up landing on Palmer.

Palmer has been incredibly efficient this year, and among the 37 quarterbacks to record at least 200 drop backs on the season, his 0.33 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back ranks second. That's also the best mark among the quarterbacks left in the playoffs.

While the Packers have defended the pass fairly well, they're one of the best matchups for a quarterback this week. They have allowed a schedule-adjusted 0.06 Defensive Passing NEP per play, which is the second worst number among defenses playing this week. They have also given up the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks among these teams.

Vegas gives the Cardinals the highest implied total of the week, at 28.5 points. The Cardinals also rank 13th in the league in red zone pass-run ratio at 1.42, which ranks second among the teams playing this week. Palmer will play a big role in their scoring, and he has the highest upside among quarterbacks this week. Having scored fewer than 15 fantasy points in a game only twice this year, he's also got a nice floor to go with that.
