Running Backs

High-Cost Option: Adrian Peterson $7,100

After watching the 32-year-old DeAngelo Williams tear through the Oakland defense, how excited do you think the league's leading rusher -- 30-year-old Adrian Peterson -- is to try and top his numbers? Peterson has gone for over 100 yards in five of eight games this season, and will look for his sixth this week at Oakland. With the availability of Teddy Bridgewater uncertain following a concussion, the Vikings may lean on Peterson even more this week, which could lead to some obscene volume as they already rush the ball the third-highest percentage in the league. With the rising Todd Gurley finally passing Peterson as the highest-priced running back, look for Peterson to try and regain that title for Week 11 as he goes against a middle of the pack rushing defense this week.

Mid-Cost Option: DeAngelo Williams $6,500

Combining last week's performance with the juicy matchup at home against Cleveland in which the Steelers are 4.5-point favorites, DeAngelo Williams will likely be the highest owned running back given his affordable $6,500 price tag. Williams burned the Raiders last week, picking up 170 rushing yards on 27 carries and will look to keep that going this week against a Browns defense that is giving up the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Cleveland has given up the most rushing yards per game on the season as five different backs have eclipsed the 100-yard mark against them. They're also tied for the third-most rushing touchdowns allowed, which could lead to a monster day by Williams, who has averaged 30 fantasy points in his three games started this year.

Low-Cost Option: James Starks $4,900

The Lions have been shredded on the ground this year, allowing the third-most rushing yards per game and the most rushing touchdowns (14) on the season by a good margin. James Starks should see lead back duties, as he has been deemed the team's starter over Eddie Lacy. Starks gets a great matchup at home in which the Packers are favored by 11.5 points. He is a bit more pricey than most of the other low-cost options, but the others don't provide quite the same ceiling Starks does in this matchup.

GPP Wildcard: DeMarco Murray $6,200

DeMarco Murray has quietly made his way up the fantasy leaderboard among running backs, currently residing as a top-10 back on the year. If looking to move off the DeAngelo Williams crowd, Murray presents a great pivot facing a Dolphins squad that is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and the second-most rushing yards per game. Murray has seen nearly 24 touches per game over his last four contests, averaging 21.7 fantasy points in the process. The Dolphins are also tied for the most touchdowns allowed to running backs and leave Murray in a great situation this weekend in which the Eagles are favored at home by six points.
