Quarterbacks

High-Cost Option: Aaron Rodgers $7,500

It's now been two straight losses after starting the season out 6-0 for Green Bay; do you think Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are ticked and eager to get back on the winning side of things? Yeah, me too.

Rodgers gets the Lions at home this week in a game where Green Bay is favored by 11.5-points. The Lions are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and have allowed five of eight quarterbacks they've faced to go over 300 total yards. Rodgers currently has 19 touchdowns on the season, trailing only Tom Brady (22) and Carson Palmer (20) and Detroit is allowing a league-worst 5.1 red zone opportunities per game. Dating back to last season, over the course of his last 16 games Rodgers has averaged 26.7 fantasy points per game at home, and only 16.1 fantasy points on the road. With Brady's salary going up for another consecutive week, Rodgers looks like the smart play if looking for a high-cost option under center this week.

Mid-Cost Option: Andy Dalton $6,500

Andy Dalton takes on a struggling Houston squad at home, in a game in which the Bengals are currently favored by 10.5-points. Dalton has traditionally struggled against the Texans -- two touchdowns and five interceptions in four games (including playoffs) -- but the 2015 version of Andy Dalton has been a revelation. He boasts an 18:4 touchdown to interception ratio on the year and gets to play a Houston defense that's tied for giving up the sixth-most passing touchdowns on the year and the 12th-fewest interceptions. They haven't been too tough on opposing quarterbacks, giving up the 12th-most fantasy points and have had three separate quarterbacks throw for three or more touchdowns in a game. Dalton has been averaging 24 fantasy points per game at home, and should well exceed our value threshold this week.

Low-Cost Option: Kirk Cousins $5,200

The Kirk Cousins wildcard play from last week didn't quite pan out, but we're going back to the well this week in an even more quarterback-friendly matchup. Cousins should be a bit more owned this week given that the Saints are allowing the most fantasy points to quarterbacks and giving up the third-most passing yards per game, but he still makes for a great play. Drew Brees has been on fire lately (10 touchdowns, 1 interception) to make this game a potential shootout, as it features this week's second-highest projected total score in a home game for Washington. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 336 passing yards and 3.4 touchdowns against New Orleans over their last five games, leaving Cousins with the potential for an outside chance to lead all quarterbacks this week in fantasy points per dollar.

GPP Wildcard: Blake Bortles $5,600

Blake Bortles takes on an abysmal Baltimore Ravens pass defense that is giving up the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, the fourth-most passing yards per game, and the sixth-most passing touchdowns. Bortles has seen a big step of improvement this season, and is now ninth in both passing yards and passing touchdowns on the season. He has reached over 25 fantasy points in three of his last four games and should hit that threshold once again in a favorable matchup. Road underdogs, the Jaguars project to see plenty of passing volume which could lead to Bortles surpassing value with a big game.
