Derek Carr, QB, Oakland Raiders

Gary Numan sang about feeling safe in his car, but when it comes to the 2017 fantasy playoffs, you will be very unsafe with Derek Carr.

I will now pause for laughter.

Anyway, Carr has an ugly schedule throughout the regular season.

Using our metrics for opposing defenses, our Brandon Gdula found that the Oakland Raiders have the second-most difficult schedule. Based on solely opposing pass defenses, the Raiders have the toughest schedule.

These matchups become especially treacherous during the playoffs. The Raiders play against the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles from Week 14 to Week 16. The game against K.C. is in Arrowhead, and the Chiefs were second against the pass last season, according to our models. Oakland's Week 16 opponent, the Eagles, were fourth against the pass. Oakland has to play both of them on the road.

Carr is being drafted fifth among quarterbacks even though he has such a difficult schedule. We project Carr to have a down year, finishing 17th among quarterbacks. While he could outscore our projections, his current ADP paired with his stretch run make him a dangerous pick.
