Richmond Spiders

According to our numbers, of the first four out, Richmond has the weakest argument to be in the tournament.

Richmond may pass the eye test of many college basketball analysts, but we didn't project the Spiders to make the tournament because their numbers just don't add up to a bid.

The Spiders, after losing in their conference quarter finals, finished the season 19-13 overall and 12-6 in the A-10 Conference. They even possess the 46th strongest schedule in the country.

However, Richmond finished 59th in both BPI and our very own nERD metric. The Spiders do have the 58th-most efficient defense in the nation, but they're just 103rd in offensive efficiency.
