8. North Carolina

Much like Indiana, North Carolina isn't as high as we've probably come to expect. Either way, Chris Paul has catapulted them into the conversation with states who have the most top NBA players. He is the best of this group with 152.5 win shares while also tallying nine All-Star appearances, eight All-NBA teams and eight All-NBA Defensive squads.

Walt Bellamy follows Paul with 130 career win shares. The 6'11" Hall of Famer center played from 1961 to 1975, winning Rookie of the Year in '61 with four All-Star games to follow. He averaged 20.1 points and 13.7 rebounds over 1,043 career games.

Buck Williams, while not a Hall of Famer, enjoyed a lengthier 17-year-career spanning the early-80s to the late-90s. He was the 1981 Rookie of the Year, was voted to three All-Star games and made four All-Defensive teams. Williams made his mark with 1,100 career blocks, 1,080 career steals and 120.1 career win shares.
