3 NBA FanDuel Studs to Target on 1/13/17
Kyle Lowry, PG, Toronto Raptors
FanDuel Price: $9,200
The Toronto Raptors have the highest implied total on the slate (118.75 as of writing) and draw an ideal matchup at home against the Brooklyn Nets, who are on the second half of a back-to-back and playing their third game in four days.
The Nets have been the team to target, ranking bottom-five in defensive rating, bottom-10 in both offensive and defensive rebound rate, turning the ball over at the league's highest rate and also playing at the fastest pace. There is no position they are allowing worse than top-three fantasy production to, and they have given up the most fantasy points per game to opposing point guards, allowing 19% more FanDuel points per game to the position than the league average.
All of this does mean there's a good chance this game doesn't stay close. Raptors starters could rest a bit in a blowout, but that hasn't been a problem for Kyle Lowry so far this season.
In the (admittedly small sample of) four games in which Toronto has been favored by at least 10 points, Lowry has seen a sizable decrease in minutes per game, but has actually seen his FanDuel points per game increase. With the Raptors' strength being their offense, a blowout is likely going to come from major offensive production, meaning a big bump in per-minute fantasy efficiency that should make up for a lack of total minutes.
Lowry leads the Raptors in fantasy scoring over their last 10. Having played more minutes than DeRozan in those lopsided games mentioned, he's the safest bet for a big fantasy day in Toronto.
