Phillies place Jerad Eickhoff (hand) on 10-day DL
The Philadelphia Phillies have placed pitcher Jerad Eickhoff on the 10-day disabled list with nerve irritation in his right hand.
Eickhoff left Wednesday's game in the third inning after experiencing a sensation in his right throwing arm. With the Phillies playing meaningless games in September, the 27-year-old might not be back by the end of the season.
Through 24 starts, Eickhoff is 4-8 with a 4.27 FIP and a 20.5% strikeout rate in 2017. But, in his last 3 starts, the promising right-hander saw his FIP rise to 6.21 while allowing 2.31 homers per 9 innings.
