Jacob deGrom (elbow) targeting late summer return for Rangers

The Texas Rangers are targeting an August return for Jacob deGrom (elbow) in the 2024 season.

What It Means:

deGrom underwent Tommy John surgery last June, and has just begun to take the first steps towards getting back on the mound with a pair of catch sessions earlier this week. He's still a ways off from a potential return, but could be worth drafting late in redraft leagues with plenty of IL spots.

The veteran ace was once again pitching to an elite level before his elbow injury cut his season short, notching a .758 WHIP with 13.4 K/9, which would have trailed only Braves ace Spencer Strider for most in the league. Hopefully deGrom will be able to make a healthy recovery as the Rangers push for another title.
