Matt Duffy, 3B, Tampa Bay Rays

After a breakout 2015 season that saw Matthew Duffy post 12 homers and 12 steals as a member of the San Francisco Giants, recent seasons have been marred by injuries, and it's been tough for the third baseman to return to form. Tonight, facing a righty like Corey Kluber, it may be another long evening.

Kluber needs no introduction as one of the best pitchers in the game, but Duffy has particularly struggled in 2018 against same-sided arms, recording putrid .079 isolated power (ISO) and .321 weighted on-base average (wOBA).

Peeking at the batted ball profile, it gets even worse, as Duffy owns a 21.0% fly-ball rate in this split. While he may be hitting .339 going back to August 22nd, it's best to look elsewhere at the hot corner tonight.
