Why He Will Go Overlooked:

It's ace day! There are a pile of great pitching options on the slate, including Corey Kluber and Max Scherzer, who are priced over $11,000 and can rack up points in a hurry. They are sure to dominate today's slate with regard to ownership.

With a 5.90 ERA this season, James Shields of the Chicago White Sox will definitely be overlooked.

Why You Should Use Him:

Even though Shields has some rough traditional metrics, there are some positive things to point out in tonight's matchup. He's rocked a 9.3% swinging-strike rate this season, a number that's been north of 10.0% in two of his last three starts.

And since the main thing we're looking for this low on the pitcher pricing scale is strikeout upside, the Texas Rangers are more than happy to foot the bill. They rank fifth-worst in strikeout rate this season (24.1%).
