Nelson Got Hurt, Now I Have Keeper Issues
Advice please.

12 team league, standard scoring.

Keeper problems. Maximum of three Keepers. Keeper rises one position each year, you can ride the Keeper up to the 2nd round then he is released to the pool. I have to choose between WR (IR) Jordy Nelson (5th round for 2015), TE T. Kelsey (11th round), WR O. Beckham (12 round), RB L. Bell (7th round).

Scenarios:
Keeping Beckham and Bell obviously, no matter what.

#1. Keeper Nelson and after the draft move him to IR for the remainder of the season. Waiver pick someone worthy to fill his slot. I get Nelson in 2016 at the 4th level. Keeping Nelson means I lose a 5th round pick in value as Nelson will be the pick. I have been very fortunate in my waiver picks in the past, for what that is worth.

#2. Drop Nelson and make a Keeper TE Kelsey. Nelson is getting old and injuries look to be coming more common. Kelsey is a top three TE, has big upside and youth. TE beyond the top four are all the same really. Chance to have a real earner in a rare position.

    #2. Chances are this injury will scare drafters next year and nelson could drop to the 4-5th rounds. Kelce is expected to have a big year and if he does you will not find him in double digit rounds. losing one round of value compared to 5+ seems the way to go.

    #2. Go for the gold now. I bet you could still get Nelson in the 5th if you wanted. Kelce will be one of the top in his position, giving you an advantage almost every week.

    As it turned out, I did not Keeper Nelson, I let him go for age and injury concerns. Right after the draft a manager picked Nelson up and placed him on IR for next season, I was a tad upset being slow in doing the same. My IR was full this season with L. Bell in any case. We can only have one player on IR at a time so it all worked out for me in the end if you can call Bell on IR as a positive. Hate FF sometimes.
