The Packers confirmed Monday that Jordy Nelson's knee injury is a torn right ACL.

What It Means:

Nelson went down in a heap after clutching his knee in the second preseason game against Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon, and the team has confirmed that his season is over. The Packers did touch base with veteran Reggie Wayne (now with the Patriots), and have their eye on James Jones, but plan to go forward with the current stable of receivers.

Nelson was the only receiver to put together multiple seasons of 70+ catches and a per-target Reception NEP of 0.90 or higher since 2011, and he did it for four straight years. With the loss of his 140.05 Reception NEP from 2014, the Packers will look to second-year receivers Davante Adams and Jeff Janis to pick up the slack, as well as rookie Ty Montgomery. We now project Randall Cobb as the WR6, Adams as the WR26, and Janis as the WR70 in standard fantasy scoring.
