Questions
Keeper league decisions - clueless.
I'm in a 8 person keeper league, and have to make a last minute adjustment to my keeper, since Josh Gordron can't follow simple instructions. I have the chance to keep him for a 14th (105 overall) pick, but really can't justify that if he is going to miss more than a couple games. As such, I have a few other options, but am unsure which way to go. The league is a standard scoring league. You can pick one of the following, noting the round/pick number I will have to give up to keep the player:

Jamal Charles (2nd round - 9th overall)
Dez Bryant (3rd round - 24th overall)
Jimmy Graham (4th round - 25th overall)
***Montee Ball (8th round - 57th overall) *** Not available, I forgot I traded him before the end of the year...oops.
Shane Vereen (12th round - 89th overall)
Knowshon Moreno (15th round - 120th overall)

As you might have guessed given my pick positions, I came in first last year, so I'll be picking at the bottom of the 1st, and top of the second round. I am really unsure where to go here - my team was great lst year, so its hard to let anyone go. What do you guys think is the best option?

Since there's no reward for receptions, I would recommend keeping Charles and giving up the ninth pick. I think Charles and McCoy will go 1-2 in most drafts, so you're getting an elite talent in the second round.

I know it's not as much of a steal in terms of ADP as it is with Graham, but in an eight-team league, tight ends will be available. Clear RB1's won't be.

Hope this helps, and good luck repeating as champ!

Lol, I love the "Since Josh Gordon can't follow simple instructions." I think I'd go with Montee Ball in this case. I'm sure others are going to say Jimmy Graham, but I think the most equity here comes from keeping Ball.

Thanks for the answer JJ. I was just looking at my roster from last year, and it looks like I traded him away at some point. (oops!)

Since that isn't an option now, what would you do?

Seeing as Gordon and Monte are no longer options, I think you minimize your risk and keep Charles. Does your original post mean that you only keep 1 player? If not, keep Jimmy too. Dez you can get at the end of the second/early third. Moreno isn't on a team & Vareen is replacement level and too high of an injury risk for keeper considerations.

That is correct, only 1 player allowed to be kept. Moreno is on the Dolphins who have a cluster-fuck at RB, but should get some touches...albeit not touches against 6 man boxes like he did in Denver.

Although it will cost you the most, you have to go with Jamaal Charles. Sitting at the 8th pick, you'll never end up with an elite RB without keeping Charles. I'd love to get Dez in the 3rd or Graham in the 4th, but taking arguably the best fantasy player in the 2nd round is too good to pass up.

That was my worry.. JC doesn't seem like as good of a value of Graham in the 4th or other options...but probably best just to play safe.

In an 8 team league you want to have the highest end starters possible, depth exists on the waiver wire. I say keep Charles.
