Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant admitted he rushed back following his foot surgery and was never 100 percent.
What It Means:
"After I broke my foot and tried to come back, I knew I wasn’t [right]," Bryant said. "But at the same time, I knew what was at stake. I thought I could potentially perform at a high level despite dealing with this foot. It turned out very unfortunate." Bryant was ineffective before landing on injured reserve prior to Week 17. He underwent further foot and ankle surgeries after the season. Considering how he played after rushing back from his last operation, Bryant will likely take things slowly this offseason.
Between his injuries and Dallas playing most of the season without Tony Romo, 2015 was a lost year for Bryant. Among the 74 receivers to see at least 60 targets, Bryant ranked 71st in Reception Net Expected Points per target.
