Baseball Keeper: Which 3?
In a keeper league, which 3 would you keep: Encarnacion, Dozier, Springer, Polanco, or Taveras?

For background, in my fantasy baseball league, we can keep up to 3 position players. All keepers cost the same (just a last round pick) and there is no limit on how long you can keep them. Players drafted in the first 4 rounds are not eligible, but everyone else is. I don't actually have to make this decision until the end of the year, but with our fantasy trade deadline approaching, I thought I might trade someone that I couldn't keep anyway for better starting pitching.

Encarnacion (to help win sooner), Springer, and Taveras.

Dozier is yet another one-season wonder who can't even hit for AVG in his good season...trade him ASAP. Polanco and Taveras was a toss-up for me, but chose Taveras for his long-term, sustainable hitting potential. I don't see Polanco as a consistent major leaguer...think Carl Crawford before injuries, but with more power and less speed. If Springer can hit .260 while hitting 40 HRs, then he's a keeper.

I accidently left Xander Bogaerts off my initial list--would you keep him over Taveras?

Tough call. At this point, yes...Xander is too young and talented to give up on for an also unproven Taveras. I'd keep a .290/20/80 SS over a .310/25/100 OF...which is what I think these guys are good for in a couple years.
