Lions waiving Denzel Mims (ankle/calf)
The Detroit Lions are waiving wide receiver Denzel Mims.
Mims injured his calf while in rehab for an ankle injury he sustained in practice. Last month, the Lions acquired Mims and a 2025 seventh-round pick from the New York Jets in exchange for a 2025 conditional sixth-round draft pick. Mims' release could open up more playing time for Marvin Jones, Josh Reynolds, and Kalif Raymond.
Mims, a 2020 second-round pick, caught 42 passes on 92 targets for 676 scoreless yards in 30 games for the Jets over his first three seasons.
