Eddie Lacy, Green Bay Packers

In the national spotlight, Eddie Lacy demonstrated both physical dominance and the danger of that physical style. His second concussion in as many seasons is concerning, and it brings back to mind the injury issues that caused his draft day slide. Lacy’s running style is brutal and he often seeks contact, exposing his body to a lot of punishment.

While he breaks a lot of tackles and trucks plenty of defenders, if he can’t protect himself he may never make it through a 16-game season.

The Packers offensive line also struggled to gain movement against the Seahawks revamped front, and the injury to right tackle Bryan Bulaga only made things worse. Even when you adjust to the fact that they faced the Seahawks, Green Bay ranked 16th in terms of rushing efficiency in Week 1 according to our metrics.

Recommendation: Lacy's still a great weapon on one of the top offenses in the league. Better days and easier matchups are ahead, although expectations should be tempered. Injuries are the only thing that should derail Lacy from being a top-12 fantasy running back.
