Benjamin Watson, New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have some of the most explosive offensive players in the NFL. While no one will confuse 37-year-old Benjamin Watson for one of them, the Saints high-powered offense plus the lack of a legitimate third wide receiver makes the veteran tight end a streaming option in Week 2.

Watson saw plenty of action in Week 1 as he was on the field for 51 of the Saints' 64 snaps (79.7%). Only wide receiver Michael Thomas and running back Alvin Kamara saw more plays than Watson. It is important to note that Watson wasn’t just out there to block either, as the Saints abandoned the running game, rushing only 13 times as they chased a double-digit deficit. The tight end was moderately productive as well, catching all 4 of his targets for 44 yards.

This Sunday, Watson has a nice matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who gave up the fourth-most fantasy points to the tight end position in 2017 and struggled a bit in Week 1. Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jesse James caught 3 passes for 60 yards against the Browns this past week. While he may not have a high ceiling, Watson makes for a nice and safe pickup to plug into your tight end spot this week.
