Martez Carter, RB, Grambling State

During his final three years at Grambling State, Carter more than earned the nickname Mr. Excitement. Carter was a threat to score each time he touched the ball as either a rusher or receiver and while returning kicks or punts. He scored a total of 41 touchdowns in 35 games, which breaks down into 29 rushing scores, 9 receiving touchdowns, and 3 more as a kick returner.

If you blend together his sophomore and junior seasons, Carter averaged 113.5 carries per year for 883.5 yards (7.8 yards per carry). As a senior, his carries were bumped up to 167 opportunities on the ground, but his average dropped down to 5.1 yards per carry. However, he continued to be a very good receiver, registering a career-high 33 receptions for 449 yards.

He's listed at 5 '9", 205 pounds, but some scouts aren't overly concerned about Carter's stout build and low center of gravity. He can contribute immediately on special teams, with the situational versatility for pass blocking and receiving.

After leading all players in rushing yards and all-purpose yards at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, Carter's small size and small school background has people thinking about Tarik Cohen all over again.
