Green Bay Packers vs. Cleveland Browns

Over/Under: 40.5

Packers Implied Team Total: 21.75

Browns Implied Team Total: 18.75

The 0-12 Cleveland Browns and the Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers? This is a game script to target?

If that's what you're thinking, I fully understand, but hear me out. This is a low-scoring slate of games and some of the franchises with better records and flashier names are locking up with strong defenses. There's always considerable potential return on your investment in situations like these. The Packers defense is struggling. The Browns, as a whole, are struggling and just allowed Philip Rivers to throw for 344 yards a week ago. The over/under is a low 40.5, but there's plenty of potential for fireworks and strong contrarian plays in a game that most people are ignoring.

DeShone Kizer, QB, Cleveland Browns

FanDuel Price: $6,400

The theme of the week is discount quarterbacks, from Carr to Winston to DeShone Kizer. Yes, the Browns are 0-12 and yes, Kizer hasn't put up particularly impressive stats in his rookie season, but there are plenty of reasons to like his outlook in Week 14. For one, the matchup is terrific. The Packers' pass defense has surrendered 6 touchdown passes over its last two contests and has allowed 300-plus passing yards in three of its last six.

Furthermore, Kizer has quietly rushed for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns over his last four starts. For the first time in his young career, he finds himself surrounded by a decent supporting cast and could be in line for his best game of the season. Kizer can be started for QB29 cost, but out models project him for 17.0 FanDuel points and a QB17 finish. Rolling with Kizer will allow you to target more expensive stud players like Antonio Brown ($9,000). It's incredibly risky and could derail your entire week, but the risk could potentially pay off in a big way.

Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns

FanDuel Price: $6,700

A big reason for this newfound confidence in Kizer is the fact that Josh Gordon is back in the Browns lineup. After numerous suspensions, the former Pro Bowler made his first start in three years this past weekend and exceeded expectations.

Disregard the 36.36% catch rate, as it's more of a byproduct of his average depth of target of 19.1. Realistically, Gordon couldn't have performed better in his return and the Browns offense is better for it.

So what will Gordon do for an encore? Quite possibly improve upon his impressive season debut against a Packers defense allowing 30.1 FanDuel points per game (fourth-most) to opposing wideouts. Gordon didn't lead the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in 14 games back in 2013 by accident. This is an incredibly talented athlete who is still only 26-years-old. At WR28 cost in a tasty matchup, he represents one of the week's value plays and will find himself in plenty of lineups.

Others to Consider

Unfortunately, last week wasn't as kind to Corey Coleman ($5,700). After leading the Browns with 18 looks over the previous two weeks, Coleman took a backseat to his teammates and was held catch-less on only 4 targets. It was discouraging, but he could get back on track against the Pack (hey, that rhymed).

Brett Hundley ($6,900) only passed for 84 yards and an interception in a premium matchup with the Buccaneers last week so it's tough to trust him against a Browns defense that ranks a respectable 17th against the pass.

Davante Adams ($6,900) remains Hundley's favorite target and figures to be the primary beneficiary of any of his quarterback's success. At this price, he could return reasonable value. Jordy Nelson ($5,900) is still someone to avoid in Week 14, but if Aaron Rodgers can make it back onto the field this season, he becomes a startable player once again both in seasonal and daily formats.
