So where in the world did that come from? Against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9, Colin Kaepernick passed for 398 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 41-23 loss. He averaged a ridiculous 10.2 yards-per-attempt as nearly a third of his yards came on long catches and runs from Vance McDonald and DuJuan Harris.

Harris, by the way, is worth a waiver claim in his own right, as Carlos Hyde was inactive in Week 9 and is yet to shed his no-contact jersey.

Kaepernick won’t pass for 300 yards every game, and in fact, he’ll likely struggle to reach 200 passing yards per game -- he threw for only 187 and 143 yards in his first two starts this season. His value will mostly come through his rushing totals, as he’s run for a combined 173 yards in his three games this year.

Chip Kelly usually finds a way to make his quarterbacks viable fantasy options. When you add in Kaepernick’s rushing ability, he’s a must-add in this offensive system.
