Joel Embiid, C, Philadelphia 76ers

Price: $10,400

On a two-game slate, we have to make plenty of compromises, and that could include paying up above $10,000 for a player in a brutal matchup with the Boston Celtics.

The C's played at a bottom-10 pace while ranking second in defensive rating last season, and with no key losses to their rotation, we can expect them to make for a tough fantasy matchup again this season.

Joel Embiid lets us look past those concerns though. Center is incredibly thin tonight, meaning that missing out on a game where Embiid shows off his ceiling could really burn you. His ridiculous efficiency also means that he has the potential to go off in any matchup.

Last year, his 1.46 FanDuel points per minute ranked sixth in the NBA (minimum 500 minute played), and crossing the 30-minutes per game barrier let him show off how crazy his upside can get.

He was one of only four players to post at least 90 FanDuel points in a game last season, and he dropped at least 60 FanDuel points 6 times.

A two-game slate that is thin on high-priced options (especially if Westbrook doesn't go) makes that kind of upside easy to like, even though it comes with a shakier floor than we usually get in the $10k range.
