Joey Lucchesi (hip) scheduled to start Wednesday for Padres
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi (hip) will be activated from the DL, and return to the starting rotation on Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics.
Lucchesi is making his first start in more than a month following a stint on the DL due to a hip strain. The Padres say he'll be limited to about four or five innings in his return to the majors. The rookie has been impressive this season for San Diego with a 3-2 record and 3.23 ERA. This move will push back Tyson Ross, Jordan Lyles, and Clayton Richard. All three pitchers will have an extra two days in between starts due to the off day Monday, and Lucchesi returning Wednesday.
Our models project Lucchesi for 27.6 FanDuel points at a cost of $8,000.
